This is just the beginning of Manchester’s valuable contributions to science and technology. Thomas Kilburn, Geoff Tootil, and Freddie Williams worked on the world’s first electronically stored-program computer, the Manchester Baby, which we’ll look at below. In fact, you don’t have to look much further than the name of the building that is home to Macrium’s headquarters: Kilburn House, named after Thomas Kilburn. While we obviously think we’re great in our own right, our place in the rich tapestry of Manchester’s history doesn’t hold a candle to these others. It also happens to be where Macrium Software’s head office is located. Manchester, England has a rich history of scientific and technological contributions.
